NASA GISS Temperature Anomaly Map (2 degree by 2 degree grid)
Consolidated Global Temperature Anomaly Trends
There are 5 major global land and ocean temperature anomaly data series: GISS, NOAA, HADCrut3, RSS and UAH.
I’ve developed a consolidated monthly CSV file that presents these series. Here’s the link to my consolidated temperature anomaly CSV file.
I update the consolidated file regularly by downloading the latest agency source files so that the consolidated file includes all source agency data revisions. This way you can get the most up-to-date temperature anomaly data without having to reformat/ manipulate the 5 individual files.
Here’s a plot of the most recent data since 1979 for the surface observation and satellite data.
This table summarizes the 1979 – present trends for each series. The table also shows the baseline period for each series. Wood-for-Trees has a useful discussion on baselines.
NOAA – ERSL – Surface Temperature Anomalies: Last 30 Days. Automatically updated by NOAA. (site link)
Sea Surface Temperatures (SST) Anomalies (link) NOAA updates their images every Monday and Thursday. I run an R script on these days to copy latest NOAA image to Processtrends.com and link to the image copy.
